Now that my corrections are nearly over, I have been praying and thinking a lot about where this blog should go, and now I want to hear what you think! URL and Appearance
Do you like the blog exactly as it is or would you prefer a less busy background – maybe a white background with images just near the blog title? Should I get my own URL, and if you have gone through this process, what advice would you give?
Reviews and Giveaways
I have been approached a couple of times recently about reviewing products and/or services. So far I am undecided but, if I got my own URL I am thinking about including a section on the website devoted to reviews and giveaways. But first, I want to know what you think – bad idea or good idea? Should I start doing product reviews? What about giveaways?
Blog Themes
At the moment, I’d say my blog focuses on the three themes of faith, food and photos. What do you enjoy reading about most when you land here? Should I focus more on any of these? Would you like to read about anything else? Would you like a bit less of me and some guest posts instead? Would you prefer for me to keep it as a personal blog, not change anything and just keep posting as I do now?

1) I personally prefer a less busy background. I tend to gravitate toward clean space. I don't have my own url, but it's not too expensive. I don't know the first thing about programming, so I'm quite intimidated by the prospect of having to manage the site, rather than just using free templates.
ReplyDelete2) Product reviews and giveaways almost always increase traffic to your site. Are you interested in growing it into a business and/or do you have time to dedicate to it? If it starts feeling like a job - one that you don't want - it'd stop with reviews/giveaways first.

Thank you Nicole for all your thoughts - I really appreciate you taking the time to do that. I also feel a bit intimidated by the prospect of managing a site which is why I've not plunged in yet.
DeleteI love your site!! It has blessed and inspired me many times - on all three of your themes. I quite like the background - it took me a while to realise that the photos were ones you'd features in your posts (duh!) and I'm all for product reviews, I like to hear others recommendations (or not) about things! i almost never enter giveaways thought, i always imagine it will be too much hassle!!
